Fairfield Basement Waterproofing was started in 2011 by Dave Kessler, a Butler County native who spent nine years working for a larger Cincinnati foundation-repair company before deciding local homeowners deserved a smaller, more responsive crew. Dave grew up near the Great Miami River in Fairfield and saw firsthand how the area's clay-heavy soil and older housing stock along streets like Nilles Road and Pleasant Avenue lead to chronic wet-basement problems after heavy spring rain. He started the company out of a single truck, taking calls himself, and has since built a small crew that still answers its own phones and shows up for the estimate they scheduled.
Today the team does four things — basement waterproofing, sump pump installation, foundation crack repair, and crawl space encapsulation — and nothing else; it's still not a general contractor, and every one of the four starts with the same free, in-person inspection, a written scope of work, and a straightforward price before any work begins. The company is proud to be a Fairfield-based, family-operated business that serves the surrounding Butler, Hamilton, and Warren County communities without the overhead — or the sales pressure — of a national franchise.
